Phacoemulsification (Modern Cataract Surgery)
Phacoemulsification, or PHACO
Phacoemulsification, or PHACO, is the gold standard technique for modern cataract removal. This advanced, minimally invasive procedure uses a tiny incision and high-frequency ultrasound energy to break up the clouded lens. The fragmented cataract is then gently suctioned out, and a new, clear Intraocular Lens (IOL) is precisely implanted. PHACO results in faster visual recovery, minimizes pain, and typically requires no stitches. It is the most effective way to restore clear vision safely and quickly.
